Gala Apples

Gala apples are a great source of fiber to regulate the digestive tract, potassium to balance fluid levels within the body, and calcium to protect bones and teeth. The apples also provide vitamin C to strengthen the immune system and reduce inflammation, vitamin A to maintain healthy organ functioning, and other nutrients, including iron, vitamin E, magnesium, boron, zinc, copper, and vitamin K.

Gala apples emit a perfumed, floral aroma and have a mildly sweet flavor with a hint of acidity. The flesh often bears fruity and floral undertones, combined with nuances of vanilla, apple blossoms, and pears. A crisp, sweet apple with a mild flavor, Galas have yellow-orange skin with red striping. They're among the best apples for applesauce, salads, eating out-of-hand, and pressing into cider.

The Gala apple, a cross between Kidd's Orange Red and Golden Delicious, originated in New Zealand. The Royal Gala strain was named in honor of Queen Elizabeth II, who deemed it her favorite during a visit to New Zealand.

The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit: 

• Small Box contains up to 10-12 lbs
• Large Box contains up to 20-22 lbs
• Extra Large Box Contains up to 40-42lbs

We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
